Ia Journal runs a residency program with poets, writers and artists alike. The function of the residency is to uplift creatives and provide them with a platform to promote themselves, and publish their work.

Residents also have the opportunity to guest edit/facilitate a rolling issue of Ia Journal. Residents choose a theme for the issue, put out a call for submissions, and then select works that are to be published along side their own.

 

A typical residency will last up to three months, including one month of editorial work, one month of creating their own work and a month for planning and promotion. 

 

There is also the opportunity to receive a small koha or scholarship to celebrate your finished works.
